2020 COHORT

Due to the many challenges associated with the COVID pandemic, Transmediavision USA (TMV) is offering a modified version of its previous media workshop and production programs. In the past, TMV has worked with startups through a program that included an in-person presentation to familiarize companies with the basics of 'video storytelling,' and an in-person recording of a one-minute presentation by a member of each respective company. All other coaching was done remotely, as was the editing, which was done by TMV. Each company was then presented with a completed video.

The objective of the remote media program is to provide the 2020 Cohorts with the skill sets to produce their own basic video stories, or manage the process, with a clearer understanding of the power and benefits of video communications.

1. Remote presentation

The presentation is designed to provide cohorts with a good, basic understanding of the principles of video messaging and the basic elements that go into designing and producing your own unique story. The following elements will be covered:

  • Overview & introduction to principles of video messaging

  • Identifying your audience and tailoring your video format to address challenges & opportunities

  • Developing and transcribing the story into a video script

  • Recording the story using available tools

    • phone, camera, laptop webcam

  • Assessing all the information elements available to you, including:

    • Pitch deck, press releases, photos, video content

  • Creating the storyboard from the script

  • Searching for relevant filler stock media

  • Editing the elements together

  • Creating your story and pitch deck, and transposing them into a visual narrative, on a basic structure:

    • The need

    • The concept

    • How your concept is addressing the need

    • The technology

    • About you & your company

    • Your market

    • Your business plan

    • The future

  • DIY production elements

  • Working with available media tools (from your phone to DSL cameras)

  • Selecting the right vehicle/platforms for broadcasting your video message

2. Video script development

As per the presentation, we work with each of the cohorts to deliver a 200 word script, using the same structure:

  • The need

  • The concept

  • How your concept is addressing the need

  • The technology

  • About you & your company

  • Your market

  • Your business plan

  • The future

3. Presenting to camera

We provide tips and are available at specified times to coach each cohort on presenting to camera.

4. Recording of presentation

Each cohort will record their own presentation. TMV will be available at specified times to assist with presentation and technical guidance, and set-ups to get the best out of the recording.

5. Content gathering

Based upon each script, we work with cohorts to add visual content from:

Pitch decks and/or other slides

Existing video or photos

Press coverage

TMV has an extensive video stock library to support the narrative.

6. Editing and packaging

TMV will take all of the gathered materials delivered by deadline for each cohort, and edit them together in to a 1-2 minute video presentation.

Below are a few examples of previous years' video presentations.

The Remote Media Program will consist of the following:

  1. Remote presentation regarding the principles of video design and presentation

  2. Video script development

  3. Presenting-to-camera coaching

  4. Presenter remote recording

  5. Content gathering

  6. Editing, packaging, delivery
